Heritage Days
Fort la Reine held it's annual Heritage Day on June 8th to coordinate with the arrival of The David Thompson Brigade. This year's event was a huge success with an estimated 400 people coming out to enjoy the festivities. The Thompson Brigade talked with the public about their reenactment of the original Thompson Brigades historic trip and answered any questions they had. Now they are continuing on their journey East to Thunder Bay.
In addition to enjoying the beautiful museum grounds the crowd was entertained by local music groups and the fun and furry animals from Aunt Muffy's Hobby Farm. There was also plenty of hotdogs to go around, a bake sale and a silent auction.
Heritage Day might be over for now, but you can still come experience "Life in the Past Lane" at Fort la Reine.
